What to Expect

WHO

Anyone who comes in our doors or on our radar is welcome and accepted, just as you are. You are great and we’re glad you’re here. You don’t have to be a member; mutual respect is our only requirement.

WHEN

Worship Services are held Saturdays beginning promptly at 11am and ending by 12:30pm (Yeah, we time them). A special service might run slightly longer (e.g. five to ten minutes more for baptisms or unique presentations from our kids), but we endeavor to value your time and bring value to your time.

The first and third Saturdays of each month we provide our complimentary “Bagel Bar” consisting of bagels (of course!), an assortment of fruits and hot/cold beverages. This starts at 10:30am before the main service and concludes shortly after said service finishes.

The second Saturday of each month is our “potluck” or fellowship meal which begins 15 minutes after the main service concludes. Special food “themes” may be chosen from time to time and will be announced in advance. Our general rule is, as one is able, to bring enough of your favorite vegan, vegetarian, or meat-based (please no pork or shellfish) foods to feed your party plus two other people (we place labels by dishes to assist people with their dietary preferences). “You, Plus Two, On Two” as we like to say. Together, this makes certain everyone has enough to eat. If you’re a guest, or may struggle to bring food items, we still want to share a meal with you, so please don’t fear to stay!

WHERE

We’ve grown and times change—and we’re excited about that! As such, when you arrive on campus you’ll see an older traditional brick church up front (cir. 1949) and a large block building toward the back. There’s additional parking located directly behind the Worship Center. Our Children’s Church check-in can be found immediately to your left when entering the Worship Center; our Bagel Bar/Refreshments can be found immediately to your right in our fellowship space, with our main meeting room at the end of the hall in front of you. We’re happy to show you our beginnings up front, yet long to have you be part of our present—and future!—in back.

HOW

There’s no dress code. You’ll see some “dressed up” and others in faded jeans and a graphic-t. We’re more interested in you being with us, not being with a designer label.

WORSHIP

We offer a “blended” service musically, meaning you’ll hear familiar songs from both the Contemporary Christian scene and meaningful hymns from times past. We prioritize an acoustic style done well. There will be a beat but you won’t need earplugs; we want you to feel the music, but not for the music to feel you.

A short welcome (you won’t be singled out if visiting), a kneeling prayer (as able), a reading of Scripture, and a Scripture immersed teaching/sermon round out our time together.

We do not collect offerings directly during our worship service. The gospel is free to humanity and we abhor pressure tactics. We have three convenient ways to contribute financially if you believe in our work and desire to support us.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH

Our worship services strive to be inclusive, yet we recognize some of our younger family need just a bit more activity for their energies and our older family might need just a bit more recharging of their own energies. As such, we offer an exciting program for ages 4-10 that includes music, crafts, snacks, and Scriptural lessons, combined with dedicated teachers and a safe environment (all staff undergo background checks and we run a child check-in system). Materials for continued learning and fun at home are usually sent with your child after their service each week. Children’s Church runs concurrently with our main Worship Service: 11am to 12:30pm.
